Where to go dancing in Cape Town

If you’re looking to get footloose and set the dance floor on fire with your epic dance moves then Cape Town has just what you’re looking for. There are plenty of clubs in Cape Town, along with dannce floors that cater to every taste. Here are some of our favourites.

Cocoon

Previously called Club 31, Cocoon is the club with the best view in Cape Town. Their line-up of top local and international DJs promises a sophisticated affair. You’ll find it in the Absa Centre on Riebeek Street with 360-degree views of the twinkling city lights, Table Mountain, and the harbour from a 31st-storey vantage point.

Arcade

This trendy pizza-spot-by-day turns into a dance and drinks hot spot at night. We recently crowned Bree Street as the hippest strip in town and Arcade certainly adds to the hipster scorecard. The great music and vibe will soon have you convinced of their neon slogans that read “youth has no age” and “it was all a dream”. They’re especially popular on First Thursdays so be sure to get there early.

Long Street

Everyone is a winner on Long Street as this grungy visitor-favourite is lined with restaurants, bars, and clubs that keep the party going well into the early morning hours. We’d highly recommend Sgt. Pepper for alternative music lovers, the Waiting Room for live jams, Fiction Bar for Drum n Bass, 2000 ‘classics’ and everything in between, and Joburg and Marvel for house and hip-hop fans who want to twerk the night away.

Deco Dance

Expect to hear all your favourite hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s and to have the time of your life when you visit the popular Deco Dance in Sea Point. With three bars and two dance floors (one smoking and one non-smoking), this club is well equipped for fun. It stays open until 4 am and luckily the surrounding fast food establishments are ready to welcome you for a post-party snack in the early hours.
